Cavaliers' Miller says he's 'ready to go' following concussion

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Cavaliers might not be able to land Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard Wesley Matthews, but they have another sharpshooter ready in wait.

Mike Miller has been sidelined for nearly two weeks due to concussion-like symptoms, but is apparently ready to play, as he told ESPN on Tuesday.

"I've told the medical team and I'll tell the coaching staff the same thing, I'm ready to play," Miller said. "And I'm confident in playing. It's totally up to them now... They pay me to play basketball games, not to watch, so I'm here. Ready to go."

Cavaliers head coach David Blatt noted that Miller passed all five stages of the league's mandatory concussion protocol, and will be a game-time decision on Wednesday before the Cavaliers' contest against the Atlanta Hawks.
