NBA Game Summary - Minnesota at Washington

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - John Wall had 21 points and 17 assists as the Washington Wizards routed the Minnesota Timberwolves 109-95 on Tuesday night.

"I thought John was terrific on both ends of the floor," Wizards coach Randy Wittman said.

Rasual Butler posted 23 points and Marcin Gortat supplied 15 points for the Wizards, who have won five straight and nine of their last 10 games.

Thaddeus Young tallied 29 points, while Gorgui Dieng added 12 points and 12 boards for Minnesota, which has dropped nine of its last 10 contests.

"We just don't have enough firepower," Wolves coach Flip Saunders said.

The Wolves trailed by as many as 14 in the first half, but whittled that deficit to 72-69 late in the third quarter before Washington went on a 17-6 run that bled into the fourth.

Nene scored the first four points of the surge, Caron Butler netted the next six and Kevin Seraphin put in the last four points for an 89-75 advantage with 8:42 left.

Washington cruised to the easy win from there, leading by as many as 20 down the stretch.

Earlier, Otto Porter and Wall knocked down triples as the Wizards raced out to a 14-2 cushion.

Washington led 27-16 following a quarter of play and took a 46-36 margin into the locker room.

Young poured in six points during an 8-2 Minnesota spurt in the third, including the final four to cut the deficit to 59-55 midway through the period.
