Jameer Nelson returns for Mavericks on Saturday

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Mavericks will have their starting point guard when they try to end the 14-game win streak of the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.

Jameer Nelson will return from a one-game absence due to a jammed right shoulder, allowing J.J. Barea to return to his usual reserve role. Barea started Wednesday with Nelson out, scoring two points in 23 minutes.

Nelson has appeared in 20 of the Mavericks' 24 games this season, averaging 7.8 points and 4.4 assists in 25.4 minutes. A steady, low-mistake offensive hand, Nelson has watched his teammates play slightly better without him than with him, as the Mavericks have been 2.2 points per-100 possessions better when Nelson hits the bench.
