Cavaliers' Irving will play Friday vs. Pelicans

The Cleveland Cavaliers will start Kyrie Irving at point guard on Friday when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans, reports Dave McMenamin. 

Irving's status was questionable, as he appeared to have sustained a knee injury during Cleveland's Thursday match up with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Irving landed awkwardly on a closeout and was forced to leave the game with the assistance from teammates and trainers. He did, however, manage to return in the second half.

On the year, Irving is averaging 20.8 points and 5.1 assists per game.
