Rockets' Harden to play Wednesday vs. NBA-best Warriors

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets will have leading scorer James Harden in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the NBA-best Golden State Warriors, the team announced

Harden, who went through shootaround Wednesday, said he's still feeling pain from the back tightness that plagued him during the second half of the Rockets' last game, a 100-95 win over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday. But it won't be enough to hold him out versus the 18-2 Warriors.

Already without center Dwight Howard – who will miss his 10th consecutive game – the Rockets would have been in extremely tough if Harden were to sit on the road versus the Warriors, who are on a franchise-best 13-game winning streak.

Harden is having another monster season, averaging 25.2 points, 6.6 assists and 6.3 rebounds over 36.9 minutes.

The 16-4 Rockets take a four-game winning streak into the contest.
