Rockets' Terry moves into 3rd place on NBA's all-time 3-point list

Jason Terry shot his way into the record books Saturday night.
The Houston Rockets' guard nailed a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter of a clash with the Minnesota Timberwolves, passing Jason Kidd to move into third place on the NBA's all-time list. Terry, a long-range assassin, is highly unlikely to move up any higher but it's a remarkable accomplishment for the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder out of the University of Arizona.
Top 5 all-time leaders | 3PM |
---|---|
Ray Allen | 2973 |
Reggie Miller | 2560 |
Jason Terry | 1989 (and counting) |
Jason Kidd | 1988 |
Paul Pierce | 1954 |
Longevity and consistency have been the keys to Terry's feat. He's in his 16th year in the NBA and has nailed 100-plus 3-pointers in 13 of those seasons.
Terry entered Saturday's game shooting 40.7 percent from long range, the first time he has been above the 40-percent mark since the 2006-07 season.
