Rose's bank three as time expired in the first overtime Tuesday night in Chicago sent the Dallas Mavericks and Bulls to double overtime.

But that's when Mavericks guard Monta Ellis took over, scoring seven points in the final frame to give Dallas a hard-fought 132-129 victory. It was fitting, given that it was Ellis who got the Mavs to overtime in the first place when Kirk Hinrich was called for a 3-point foul with less than two seconds left in regulation.

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau conceded after the game that he had told his players to take the foul when that happened. "That's my fault," he said.

Ellis finished with 38 points, albeit on high-volume shooting, helping offset a cool start to the night from the Mavs' frontcourt of Dirk Nowitzki and Chandler Parsons. Devin Harris was hot off the bench for Dallas, hitting 7-of-10 shots with 20 points and eight assists.

The Bulls got another great game from Pau Gasol, who played 50 minutes, scoring 29 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. His frontcourt mate Mike Dunleavy had 20 points.

Rose didn't provide much in the way of offensive fireworks outside of the buzzer-beater, shooting 6-of-20 overall, but he did have 10 dimes.

Jimmy Butler had 23 points in 46 minutes.
