Cavs hold off Bucks, but Parker shines

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Jabari Parker had himself a game Tuesday night, but the Milwaukee Bucks' rookie's 22 points on 11-of-15 shooting weren't enough to top the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kevin Love put up 20 points and seven rebounds in the first half for the Cavs, who won 111-108. But there was no stopping Parker turning the corner on him in the second quarter:

Love cooled off considerably in the second half, but LeBron James and Mike Miller keyed Cleveland's resurgence after the Bucks led by as many as 11.

Parker's 22 points were one off his career high, and while they came on 73 percent shooting, Parker never reached the line and didn't attempt a single shot from beyond the arc. Still, it was likely his best offensive game as a pro.

James finished with 26 points (including 14-of-21 from the line) and 10 assists, but the player of the game for the Cavs was Kyrie Irving, who shot 10-of-15 and sent momentum Cleveland's way for good with this and-1 off Miller's block of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Love sat out the game's last possession after limping off, but Cavs coach David Blatt said afterwards that it was just leg cramps. The Cavaliers have now won four in a row, outscoring their opponents by a combined 73 points during the stretch. They get both Gotham teams and two games against the East-leading Toronto Raptors next.
