Knicks' Stoudemire on James Harden drawing late fouls: "It was like an angel came down"

James Harden getting to the free throw line is nothing new. The Houston Rockets All-Star has averaged about 10 attempts per game over the last three seasons.

No one should have been surprised, then, to see the crafty Harden find his way to the charity stripe for six fourth quarter free throw attempts in Houston's 91-86 victory over the New York Knicks on Monday.

Call it embellishment - or flopping, if you will -  but the fact is that Harden is one of the NBA's best at getting defenses off balance and drawing contact.

Amar'e Stoudemire prefers to chalk it up to something else entirely. Divine intervention.

“It was like an angel came down and started calling calls for him," Stoudemire said of Harden's fourth quarter run, which helped the Rockets pull away for their 11th win of the season and dropped the Knicks to 4-11.

"Down the stretch, I don’t see how he was getting those foul calls," Stoudemire added after racking up five fouls in the loss.
