Tobias Harris sidelined by calf strain Monday vs. Cavaliers

Tobias Harris is missing an opportunity to go head-to-head with the league's best player.

Slowed by a right calf strain, Harris will not suit up for the Orlando Magic on Monday when they take on LeBron James and his struggling Cleveland Cavaliers. It will mark the second consecutive game Harris has missed with the ailment, which is considered a day-to-day matter.

While Harris obviously isn't at James' level, he's started his third NBA season as a house afire. In 14 games, Harris is averaging 18.8 points and 8.4 rebounds with an above-average player efficiency rating of 18. The versatile combo forward likely would have matched up opposite James for at least some stretches, a nice test for the 22-year-old.

"I tried to see how it felt and there is still some discomfort," Harris said Monday. "I don't want to put myself at risk on the floor."

Instead, it may be Evan Fournier lining up as the starting three. With Harris out on Saturday, Fournier slid from shooting guard to small forward, with Willie Green drawing in as the starting two. It's unclear if the Magic may adjust opposite James, perhaps with the bulkier Mo Harkless drawing the assignment.
