Good news for Indiana Pacers fans: swingman Paul George could resume on-court training as early as next week.

George is said to be currently working on a treadmill in a pool, but could soon resume limited work on the court, reports the Associated Press.

George broke his leg during Team USA training camp this past summer after landing awkwardly against the basket stanchion and is expected to be out for the season.

After the injury, George expressed hope that he could return sometime during the season, though Pacers head coach Frank Vogel added the disclaimer that a return this year isn't likely.

The 24-year-old wing is one of the league's best perimeter defenders, and was named to the All-NBA third team after averaging 21.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists last season.
