Phoenix Suns (6-5) at Detroit Pistons (3-8), 7:30 p.m. (ET)
(SportsNetwork.com) - The Phoenix Suns started their eastern portion of this long road trip off with a victory and will try to keep the momentum going Wednesday when they visit The Palace of Auburn Hills to take on the Detroit Pistons.
The Suns kicked off this current six-game swing with a loss to the LA Clippers, but began the far east section of the sojourn with a 118-114 win over the Boston Celtics Monday.
Eric Bledsoe's steal and go-ahead layup with 29.5 seconds remaining lifted the Suns to victory. Boston had possession after Goran Dragic's layup at the other end tied the game at 114-114, but Avery Bradley's cross-court pass was intercepted by Bledsoe and his easy bucket put the Suns in front.
"He gets big steals at the end of games," Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said of Bledsoe.
Bledsoe supplied 15 points, seven assists and five rebounds in the triumph
Markieff Morris posted 30 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals, Dragic tallied 22 points, seven assists and six rebounds and Len netted 19 points off the bench for the Suns.
The Suns still have to visit the Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors following Wednesday's tilt.
The Pistons are reeling, losers of five of their last six and two in a row.
The most recent setback was a 107-93 drubbing at home to the Orlando Magic on Monday.
Caron Butler ended with 20 points and six boards for Detroit. Brandon Jennings had 18 points.
Holding an 88-87 lead, the Magic used a 6-0 spurt to gain some breathing room. Luke Ridnour's three-point play and Fournier's 3-pointer made it 94-87 with 6:53 to play.
Andre Drummond responded with a three-point play, but Orlando ended the game on a 13-3 run.
"We got the game back to 88-87 and I made some questionable substitutions down the stretch," said Detroit coach Stan Van Gundy. "We didn't defend, they had us spread out, they shot the ball well and I don't think we ever really impacted them defensively. We're going to see the same things the next couple of games so it's something we're going to have to take care of."
Drummond had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope managed 10 points in the loss.
The Pistons hit the road for two straight, starting Friday in Atlanta.
The two teams split two meetings last season and the Suns have lost three in a row in Auburn Hills.
