Kings' Gay will play vs. Pelicans

Kelley L Cox / USA TODAY Sports

There's good news for the Sacramento Kings.

Rudy Gay, who had been listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans because of right Achilles tendinitis, will play after all, head coach Mike Malone said.

Gay, who signed a three-year, $40-million extension with the Kings on Sunday, has averaged 22.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists through 10 contests, all career-highs.

He's also added 1.2 steals per game for the surprising Kings (6-4).
