Pacers granted 2nd exception to keep A.J. Price

Brian Spurlock / USA Today Sports

A.J. Price will remain an Indiana Pacer for at least another 10 days.

Originally signed on Nov. 6 using a Hardship Exception granted to the Pacers by the league in the face of a handful of injuries, Price has appeared in six games for the Pacers, averaging 13 points and 2.8 assists.

Because names like George Hill, C.J. Watson, Rodney Stuckey, David West and Paul George remain sidelined, the league granted Indiana a second exception. Price should remain in coach Frank Vogel's rotation for the immediate future, as the team only has Donald Sloan to rely on at point guard otherwise.

Despite the injuries, the Pacers have managed a 4-7 record and the league's eighth-best defense so far. Their performance on both ends of the floor has been significantly better with Price than without, with the team outscoring opponents by 8.2 points per-100 possessions with the U-Conn product on the court.
