Slumping Anthony 'still getting there' with Knicks' offense

In the midst of an ugly shooting slump, Carmelo Anthony is shouldering responsibility for the three-game losing streak that has befallen the New York Knicks.

"We're not playing well, I'm not playing well and it starts with me on this team," Anthony said after the Knicks dropped a 110-99 result to the rival Brooklyn Nets on Friday. "I've got to get myself going, and I think that will trickle down to everyone else."

After a somewhat surprising 2-1 start to the season, the Knicks have lost their last three games to the Nets, Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards by a combined 29 points, with Anthony shooting just 28 percent over that stretch.

Scorers are going to encounter shooting slumps, and in Anthony's defense, the Knicks just aren't very good, but the seven-time All-Star admits he's also still getting acclimated to coach Derek Fisher's triangle offense.

"I'm still getting there. I'm still trying to find that comfort zone," Anthony said.

"It's definitely not second nature," the former scoring champion later added.

However, Anthony - who is shooting under 38 percent through six games - knows he'll start making shots soon enough.

"They're just not going in. Those are shots that I've been making and I will make, continue to make throughout my career," Anthony said.

He should probably work on his hat game while he's at it.
