Mavs' Carlisle: 'I like everything about Parsons'

Charles Barkley is already sick of watching the Los Angeles Lakers.

Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle believes offseason acquisition Chandler Parsons is about to start turning some heads around the league.

Chandler, who inked a three-year, $46-million deal with Dallas in July, moved across the state of Texas following three seasons with the Houston Rockets, who declined to match the restricted free agent's offer sheet. In his fourth NBA season, Chandler figures to be a prominent part of a revamped Mavericks team.

"I like everything about Parsons," Carlisle said, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas. "He plays hard; he is decisive with what he is doing. The last shot of the game the other night, I loved the way he stepped into it aggressively and confidently. He is going to play his game.

"By the time All-Star break rolls around, people are going to look at him and say this is one of the best young players in the league."

Parsons scored 21 points and added seven rebounds in a win over the Utah Jazz on Thursday, two days after missing eight of 10 shots from the field and being held to five points in his Mavericks debut.
