Former NBA All-Star Mookie Blaylock was sentenced to 15 years on Monday after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide in the May 31, 2013 collision that killed a mother of five in Clayton County, Georgia.

As a result of the plea deal Blaylock reached, however, which includes seven years in prison and eight on probation, he will only serve three years behind bars before his sentence is suspended.

Blaylock will also have to complete 1,500 hours of community service  and attend Alcoholic Anonymous meetings twice a week.

Blaylock pled guilty on the day jury selection was supposed to begin, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Blaylock, the No. 12 pick in the 1989 NBA draft, spent 13 seasons in the Association with the Nets, Hawks and Warriors, earning a spot on the 1994 Eastern Conference All-Star team.
