Ellington suffered a concussion in the Lakers' preseason finale against the Kings in Las Vegas on Friday, InsideSoCal.com reports.

Analysis:

Ellington (concussion) is set to evaluated over the weekend, but due to the nature of his injury, will need to pass the league's concussion protocol before he is able to resume practice and playing. Coach Byron Scott said it was "dicey" that Ellington would be right to go for Tuesday's opener against the Rockets, further depleting the Lakers' backcourt, which is missing Nick Young (thumb), Xavier Henry (knee), and possibly, Ronnie Price (knee). Even when healthy, though, Ellington is a fantasy option only in super-deep formats.
