Durant on ESPN's No. 8 ranking: 'Who gives a s---?'

Kyle Terada / US PRESSWIRE

Everyone understands that Kevin Durant's year over year production will suffer as a result of him missing a quarter of the season with a foot fracture.

But suffer to the point that the reigning MVP, coming off a historic season, will only be the eighth-best player in the NBA this year? That seems like quite the stretch, which is why so many fans took exception to ESPN's ranking of Durant on Friday.

In a league with so many marquee stars, however, Durant doesn't sweat meaningless preseason rankings, as one fan on Twitter found out from The Slim Reaper himself.

Durant makes a solid point, but it will be tougher to enjoy NBA games for the first quarter of the season without the league's second-best player on the court.
