Dirk Nowitzki finished with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists for the Mavericks, who head to San Antonio on Tuesday to begin the regular season. Al-Farouq Aminu donated 13 to the winning cause, while Monta Ellis added 11 points.

Tobias Harris totaled 14 points for the Magic, who open up at New Orleans also on Tuesday. Kyle O'Quinn had 12, while Nikola Vucevic posted 10 points and a game-best 13 boards in defeat.
