NBA Game Summary - Dallas vs. New Orleans

Bossier City, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyreke Evans scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds in the New Orleans Pelicans' 88-85 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday.

Anthony Davis added 13 points, six boards, two steals and two blocks for the Pelicans, who improved to 5-2 in the preseason. Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon each tallied 12 points.

New Orleans opens the season at home against the Orlando Magic on Oct. 28.

Gal Mekel ended with 17 points and eight assists for the Mavericks. Jae Crowder and Charlie Villanueva had 14 and 13 points, respectively.

After the Mavericks cut the Pelicans' lead to 86-85, Patric Young made a layup with 2.6 seconds left to seal the game. Dallas guard Ricky Ledo missed a 3- pointer at the buzzer.
