NBA Game Summary - Indiana at Charlotte

Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - C.J. Miles dropped in a game-high 23 points as the Indiana Pacers came through with a 88-79 victory over the Charlotte Hornets in the preseason finale for both teams.

Luis Scola amassed 15 points and 12 rebounds and Donald Sloan tallied 11 points with eight assists in a game the Pacers led nearly the entire way.

After building a 28-18 advantage after one quarter, Indiana began the second with a 13-1 run and maintained a double-digit lead until the Hornets scored 12 straight points to close the gap to 75-73 with 5 1/2 minutes to play.

The Pacers then countered with an 11-3 surge to put the game away.

Brian Roberts paced Charlotte with 19 points, with Al Jefferson compiling 15 points, seven rebounds and six blocks in the loss.

The Hornets played without Kemba Walker (foot) and Gerald Henderson (hamstring) as well as former Pacer Lance Stephenson, sidelined by a groin strain.

Indiana will open the regular season at home against Philadelphia on Wednesday. Charlotte hosts Milwaukee on Wednesday in its lid-lifter.
