Derrick Rose drops 30 in Bulls' 107-98 loss to Cavaliers

Following weeks of ostensible rust-shaking after returning from his second major knee surgery in as many years, Bulls point guard Derrick Rose finally looked like his old self Monday night in his team's much-hyped preseason tilt with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The first 2014-15 clash of the two Eastern Conference favorites had the air of a regular-season game, with the starters for both teams playing heavy minutes and getting major burn in the fourth quarter.

While the Cavaliers ultimately came away with a 107-98 win - thanks in large part to a 28-point outburst from their own star point guard, Kyrie Irving - it was Rose's performance that stood out.

He scored in every way imaginable, overcoming some recent shooting woes to connect on four of his five three-point attempts, shredding the defense in the halfcourt with his crossover, and blowing past everyone to finish in transition.

He finished with 30 points on 12-of-18 shooting, adding five rebounds and three assists, with nary a turnover, in 24 minutes.

It was vintage Rose, and it should be hugely encouraging to fans who've spent the offseason worrying not just about the former MVP's health, but about his ability to regain his peak form.
