Lakers' Kelly out with another hamstring injury

Ryan Kelly's legs can't catch a break.

The Los Angeles Lakers big man was expected to make his preseason debut on Sunday against the Utah Jazz after missing the last few weeks with a left hamstring strain.

Instead, Kelly is now out with a right hamstring injury, coach Byron Scott announced Sunday.

With the regular season a little over a week away, Kelly and the Lakers will have to hope that this new right hamstring issue doesn't keep him out of action as long as the moderate strain to his left hamstring did.

Kelly averaged 8.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 59 games with the Lakers last season, his first in the NBA.

The 23-year-old power forward also flashed some stretch-four potential, knocking down nearly 34 percent of his 2.4 three-point attempts per game.
