LeBron James puts Miami mansion up for sale, asking $17M

David Richard / USA Today Sports

LeBron James's new contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers could see him become an unrestricted free agent in 2015 or 2016, at his choosing.

Allowing for that option was strictly a financial decision, letting James best optimize his earnings amid salary cap uncertainty. Any Miami Heat fans holding out faint hope that James did this in case he regretted his decision and wanted to rejoin The Heatles can probably put that to rest now.

James has put his Miami mansion up for sale, cutting off any roots remaining in the city. The six-bed, eight-bath, 20,000-square-foot, single-family home is listed for $17 million. It is, in a word, baller:

We'd put in an offer, but $17 million is just a little too steep. Wonder if James would accept slightly less.
