LeBron James sitting out Tuesday vs. Bucks for rest, will play Wednesday

Ken Blaze / USA Today Sports

No need to panic, folks. With preseason games on back-to-back days, the Cleveland Cavaliers are opting to give their superstar offseason acquisition a bit of rest.

LeBron James will take the night off Tuesday when the Cavaliers take on the Milwaukee Bucks, with the team citing rest as the only reason. It's possible he's just terrified of facing The Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo in his first outing as a starting point guard.

James is expected to be back in the lineup Wednesday when the Cavaliers travel to Cincinnati to face the Indiana Pacers.

James has already had a pair of exhibition outings to get acclimated with his new coach and new teammates, and the team has four more on the docket after Tuesday. It's a long preseason, and there's little reason to have your top players do a back-to-back and three games in four nights if it can be avoided.

For what it's worth, James said Monday he feels better than he did when camp opened, when he was said to be dealing with back soreness. So again, don't panic.
