Irving (ankle) sat out most of Thursday's practice and seems unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason game versus the Heat, ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Irving suffered a sprained right ankle after colliding with teammate Anderson Varejao during practice Tuesday. That incident resulted in Irving being sent for X-rays and an MRI, both of which fortunately revealed no damage. While Irving was seen wearing a walking boot Wednesday, he has since shed that appendage. Although he's still listed as day-to-day, it's likely that Irving will spend Saturday's exhibition outing resting his ankle on the Cavaliers' bench.
