Yesterday, it was small forward Nick Young tearing a ligament in his thumb, forcing him out of action for six-to-eight weeks. Today, it's 40-year-old point guard Steve Nash, who reportedly injured his ankle in practice.

Nash was limited to just 15 games played last season due to an assortment of injuries, and pushed Nash to contemplate retirement. He recently told the Toronto Star that he's at "100 percent."

With Nash hobbled, Jeremy Lin figures to have the inside track to be the Lakers' starting point guard.
