Copeland is preparing to shift to small forward for the 2014-15 season, Pacers.com reports.

Analysis:

Copeland found himself buried behind David West and Luis Scola on the depth chart last season, so transitioning from the four to a three after Paul George's injury certainly makes sense. This should allow him to compete for more time on the floor, and will likely result in an increase from his lowly seven minute per game average last season. Pacers' coach Frank Vogel plans on running a 10-man rotation this season, which will open up playing time for a variety of players, with Copeland standing to be one of the main beneficiaries. He's still seemingly unlikely to earn a starting job, but single-digit minutes should soon bee a thing of the past.
