Miles (calf) has opened training camp as the Pacers' starting small forward, Scott Agness of Vigilant Sports reports.

Analysis:

Miles has been dealing with a right calf strain to begin his Pacers career, but has been able to participate in the majority of practice activities thus far. In fact, Miles has been occupying Indiana's starting small forward position, with fellow offseason signing Rodney Stuckey playing shooting guard. Since star Paul George (leg) expected to miss the entire season and second-year player Solomon Hill is still developing, Miles represents the Pacers' most experienced option to start in George's vacated position. In 51 games (34 starts) for the Cavs last season, Miles averaged 9.9 points and shot 39 percent on three-pointers in 19.3 minutes per game.
