George (leg) acknowledges that he'll likely miss the entire upcoming season, but is holding out hope of being available if the Pacers make the playoffs, CBS Sports reports.

Analysis:

George is just two months removed from suffering a horrendous leg fracture, an injury that was initially thought to come with a 12 to 18 month timetable for recovery. Although George appeared at Tuesday's media session without crutches or a boot on his leg, it's still highly unlikely that he'll play this season. Nonetheless, the optimistic star swingman is hopeful of beating the odds and suiting up in the event that the Pacers make the playoffs next spring.
