Nike delays LeBron 12 citing 'small cosmetic issue'

Sneakerheads hoping to get their hands on the first of several Nike LeBron 12 colorways will have to wait just a little longer.

On Wednesday, Nike announced that the Oct. 1 retail release for China and the Oct. 11 global retail release have been delayed "due to a small cosmetic issue" with some of the shoes.

The shoe is being touted as having a design that can enhance explosiveness, blending cushioning, support, and flexibility - plus a quirky hexagonal Nike Zoom Air bag panel on the sole - for a finished product that reflects insight from LeBron James.

James had some issues with last year's version of the shoe, the LeBron 11, leading to some negative publicity as opted not to wear the model partway through the season. He's since spoken about how his relationship with Nike allows for him to provide a great deal of feedback, and it appears the brand is committed to releasing his perfect shoe, even if it means delaying the release.
