Jones will have to compete with Donatas Motiejunas for the starting power forward job, the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen reports.

Analysis:

This is the same kind of coach-driven competition that happened all of last season, and Jones ended up edging out Motiejunas, seeing 27.3 minutes per game versus his Lithuanian counterpart's 15.4 mpg. Unless something changes between now and the start of the season, Jones is the power forward on the Rockets that fantasy owners should be targeting. The Rockets are expected to pick up Jones' fourth-year option by the Oct. 31 deadline, barring any unforeseen developments.
