Henderson will compete with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for the fifth and final starting spot in Charlotte during the preseason, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Analysis:

Due to the versatility of offseason addition Lance Stephenson, the situation on the Bobcats' wing is fluid. Depending on the success of lineups featuring Henderson at two-guard and Kidd-Gilchrist at the three in the top unit, Stephenson will slot wherever he's needed, with no clear indication who represents the leader in the clubhouse. Henderson himself must prove the health of his right wrist, which underwent surgery to remove scar tissue in late May. In reality, the decision will likely come down to needing a presence on defense or offense, the latter of which would press Henderson into the starting five.
