Nash is feeling "the best he's felt" according to Lakers' general manager Mitch Kupchak and has been participating in five-on-five scrimmages prior to training camp opening next week, InsideSoCal.com reports.

Analysis:

Nash has missed 99 games over the past two seasons with a variety of ailments including a leg fracture and persistent back and leg nerve root issues, but all signs point to the 41-year-old dual MVP being in much better shape this offseason. Coach Byron Scott has already hinted that Nash will be the Lakers' starting point guard, but tempered expectations by saying he will sit a lot of back-to-back sets and have his minutes limited. Jeremy Lin is still the better fantasy option in the Lakers' backcourt, but these reports muddy his outlook somewhat.
