Eric Gordon—finally healthy after a myriad of injuries—is willing to play whatever role coach Monty Williams has in mind for him this season, the Times-Picayune reports.

Gordon—finally healthy after a myriad of injuries—is willing to play whatever role coach Monty Williams has in mind for him this season, the Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis:

Gordon may be ticketed for a bench role this season, both in an effort to keep his oft-injured body healthy and to give a starting spot to Tyreke Evans, who thrived in 22 starts a season ago. However, the shooting guard made it clear that he and Evans can share the court at the same time due to their different styles of play—and the two should see plenty of time together. Regardless of what his role will be this year, Gordon has his sights set on playing alongside Anthony Davis in the All-Star game this season. Though motivation for a player is never a bad thing, there are likely too many mouths to feed in the talented New Orleans offense for Gordon to truly shine.
