Brook Lopez plays 5-on-5 for the 1st time since foot injury

Good news, Nets fans: Brook Lopez is nearing the end of his long road back to recovery after breaking his foot for the second time in two years.

The latest landmark in his comeback campaign is playing five-on-five, as he did on Monday. As relayed by the New York Daily News, Nets GM Billy King revealed that Lopez will continue to practice, although not on both ends of two-a-days.

The 26-year-old Lopez has struggled to stay healthy, but has been tremendously effective during his time on the court. Last season, Lopez posted per-game averages of 20.7 points and six rebounds per game on 56.3 percent shooting before suffering a broken foot.

With the Nets having lost two members of their starting staff to free agency in Paul Pierce and Shaun Livingston, Lopez will be counted upon to be healthy and productive.
