1991 - USA Basketball announces Dream Team participants

With NBA players headed to the following summer's Olympics for the first time, USA Basketball announces the first 10 members of the team that would live on in legend as the "Dream Team."

The highly anticipated roster reveal lives up to the hype, as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, David Robinson, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing, Scottie Pippen and Chris Mullin are announced as members (Clyde Drexler and Christian Laettner were added later) of likely the greatest sports team ever assembled.

The actual team lives up to the hype, too, outscoring opponents in their eight games at the Barcelona Olympics by an average of over 43 points per game en route to gold.
