VIDEO: James Harden, Anthony Davis meet 'Beard Guru' to promote NBA 2K15 face mapping

NBA 2K15 is trying to reach out to us. 3-D face mapping, with the promise of terrific beard replication? We'll need some testing before we can really trust it, but the early returns (see below) are encouraging. Next gen is a wonderful thing.

2K seems pretty excited about it, too, and they're not holding anything back with their early promotional material. On Wednesday, they released a three-minute commercial featuring two of the more ... unique faces in the NBA.

James Harden, he of the I-have-literally-never-shaved beard, and Anthony Davis, he of the trademark unibrow, appear together in the spot. The two superstars interact with The Beard Guru, a German meister who is very clearly meant to be a take on Dirk Nowitzki's famed German "shooting guru," Holger Geschwindner.

It's good for a chuckle, though you'll probably only get a 60-second version on television.

Seriously though, if Ronnie 2K is reading this and wants a well-bearded test subject to really put the face-mapping to the test, holla at ya boi.
