Blazers owner Paul Allen donates $9 million to help fight Ebola outbreak

Portland Trail Blazers owner and former Microsoft CEO Paul Allen announced Friday that he is donating $9 million to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help combat the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

The outbreak is one of the largest on record and the first to afflict West Africa, according to the CDC. The disease has spread mainly across regions of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. On Sunday, a fourth doctor died in Sierra Leone trying to combat the deadly epidemic.
