Evans is still unsure of the role he will be playing this season in New Orleans, the Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis:

Evans had an up-and-down first season with the Pelicans last year, thriving as a starter and faltering off the bench. However, coach Monty Williams hasn't decided where to put the versatile Evans for the coming season. Williams likes Evans as a guard, where he can play both on and off the ball, but following the departure of Al-Farouq Aminu, the Pelicans have a hole at small forward that Evans can fill—especially now that Omer Asik has been brought in to fortify the defense. Evans, who is still not yet 100 percent but should be by the time training camp starts on September 30, should learn more about his role when Williams returns from his work with Team USA.
