Suns impressed with No. 27 pick Bogdan Bogdanovic at World Cup

While the Phoenix Suns won't have No. 27 overall pick Bogdan Bogdanovic on their roster for the upcoming season after the 22-year-old signed a new deal in Turkey, that doesn't meant the organization can't dream on his potential.

His impressive skillset has been on display over the past two weeks at the FIBA World Cup, where Bogdanovic has suited up for a surprising Serbian team that finds itself in the semifinals. In seven outings, the wing, who will likely play the two at the NBA level, has averaged 11.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 49.2 percent.

It's been enough that Suns general manager Ryan McDonough was raving about his pick's performance in Madrid:

He was very efficient and got his spots and got the shots he wants to shoot. He scored on spot-up shots, off the dribble and going to the basket. I'm impressed with his playmaking. He's got long arms. He's strong and he has a feel for the game.

He can make a lot of plays other guys can't make.

Bogdan has an edge to him. I mean that in a good way. It's a competitive edge. He's pretty tough. He's confident. He doesn't back down from anybody.

The new contract that Bogdanovic signed with his Turkish team Fenerbahce is said to contain a "reasonable" buyout in the 2016 offseason, which now becomes a reasonable date to look forward to for Suns fans.
