France 69, Croatia 64

A slow game that saw both teams in the 20's and shooting worse than 35 percent early in the third quarter ended with a pretty entertaining finish, as Croatia nearly erased a 12-point fourth quarter deficit.

Bojan Bogdanovic scored 14 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter to spur the Croatian rally, but he clanked the potential go-ahead three with 27 seconds remaining as France held on for the five-point victory.

Nicolas Batum's 14 points led a balanced scoring effort for France, with the Trail Blazer forward adding four steals on the day.

Slovenia 71, Dominican Republic 61

The Dragic brothers proved too much for the Dominican squad, as Goran and Zoran combined for 30 points on 50 percent shooting to go with seven assists, five rebounds and five steals for Slovenia.

The Slovenians, who will now meet Team USA in the quarterfinals, also got 28 points from their bench.

Guard James Feldeine led the way for the Dominican, finishing with 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in a losing effort.

Spain 89, Senegal 56

The Spanish remained undefeated with yet another convincing win on Saturday. Playing in front of a rowdy crowd in Madrid, the home team easily dispatched of Senegal.

Chicago Bulls center Pau Gasol continued his dominant performance, collecting a game-high 17 points while connecting on all eight of his two-point field goal attempts. He also added five rebounds and three blocks. His younger brother Marc Gasol chipped in with nine points on 4-of-4 shooting.

Spain easily dominated in the interior. As a team, the Spanish sunk 75 percent of their two-point attempts while collecting 13 total blocks. Conversely, Senegal shot under 40 percent on two-pointers and under 20 percent on threes in the loss.

Spain will face France in the quarterfinals on Sept. 10.
