Lopez (foot) doesn't plan on having any restrictions this season, ESPN reports. "Like I said before, I'm not looking for any restrictions," Lopez said. "I'm confident I'm gonna be able to go out there and be better than I've ever been."

Analysis:

Lopez underwent multiple surgeries in January to repair a broken bone in his right foot and reposition another bone to give him better weight distribution in an attempt to make his feet more durable. He had previously broken the same bone in his right foot back in the 2011-12 season. Lopez has been working without restrictions since the beginning of August, putting him in position to be fully ready for the start of training camp. While it's great to hear he's doing well, his injury history makes him a risky pick in fantasy who often gets taken high in drafts due to his scoring ability and positional eligibility as a center. It may be worth taking a risk on Lopez in third or fourth round of standard leagues, but drafting him any earlier than that is too riksy of a play when there are several other options with healthy track records available. We're preaching caution when it comes to drafting players like Lopez and Derrick Rose early in drafts.
