Nash will remain on the Lakers' roster for the 2014-15 season after the deadline to use the stretch provision passed this weekend, InsideSoCal.com reports.

Analysis:

In likely the last season of his career, Nash will play out his contract this season. The Lakers had the option of using the stretch provision and paying the remaining $9.7 million of his contract over the next three seasons but elected to keep him on the roster, paying the full amount against the cap. He has rarely been healthy since crossing to the Lakers in a sign-and-trade with the Phoenix Suns. Nash has played in only 65 games over the past two seasons, and he's been a shell of himself, playing the lowest minutes and scoring the fewest points per game since his rookie season, all the way back in 1996-97. He'll back up new acquisition Jeremy Lin and will likely be off the radar for all 10 or 12-team fantasy leagues.
