Warriors sign trio of undrafted rookies from Summer League squad

After getting passed over in the 2014 draft, free-agent forwards James Michael McAdoo and Mitchell Watt, and free-agent guard Aaron Craft, have been signed by the Golden State Warriors, the team announced Tuesday. All three played for the Warriors Summer League team in Las Vegas.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed, but it appears likely that the contracts are unguaranteed. The signings pushed the Warriors roster to 16 players, while the maximum number teams are allowed to have under guaranteed contracts is 15. The three undrafted rookies will, however, be invited to training camp, where they'll have a chance to crack the opening-day roster and have their contracts picked up.

As a Junior last season, the 6-foot-9 McAdoo led the Tar Heels in rebounding (6.8) and finished second in scoring (14.2), on his way to a second team All-ACC nomination. For the Warriors' Summer League team, he played in five games, averaging 9 points and 5.4 rebounds in a team-high 29 minutes per contest.

The 6-foot-2 Craft played four years at Ohio State, and earned the NABC and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year awards last season as a senior. He was named to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team in each of his four seasons. With the Summer League squad, he averaged 7.4 points, 2.4 assists, and a team-high 2.6 steals in 22.2 minutes.

The 6-foot-10 Watt played professionally the last two years in Israel, after four collegiate seasons with Buffalo. He averaged 13.4 points and 6.6 rebounds last season with Ironi Nes Ziona.
