The Sacramento Kings reportedly waived shooting guard Wayne Ellington on Sunday, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Sunday was the last day to apply the waive-and-stretch provision for the upcoming season, meaning the Kings will be relieved of the entirety of Ellington's contract, worth $2.8 million.
He appeared in 45 games with the Dallas Mavericks last season, providing efficient three-point shooting to the tune of 42 percent from beyond the arc.
Ellington was acquired by the Kings in a trade with the New York Knicks earlier this month.
