Kevin Love says he's committed 'long term' to the Cavaliers

Newly acquired Cavaliers forward Kevin Love, in his own words, is "committed long term" to a championship chase in Cleveland.

"[An extension] hasn't been talked about," Love told reporters at his introductory press conference in Cleveland. "I'm committed to this team and committed long term to the end goal, which is to win a championship."

Love also discussed the chronology of his journey to Cleveland, which started and ended with the decision of LeBron James to return home.

"LeBron signed to come back, and a few hours later he called me and I said, 'I'm in.' That had a lot to do with my decision. It means a lot to be a part of this organization."

With the triumvirate of Love, LeBron and Kyrie Irving, it's hard to envision the Cavaliers falling short of at least the NBA Finals, especially given the weakened playing field in the Eastern Conference. The three stars are each under 30 years of age and, assuming Love signs an extension next offseason, supremacy in the East should rest in Cleveland for the near future.
