This should bolster the Charlotte Hornets' bid for a future All-Star game.

The city of Charlotte is ready to invest a total of $33.5 million in capital improvements and general maintenance on Time Warner Cable Arena over the next ten years, according to the Charlotte Observer.

The funds will be raised through two hospitality taxes. City council is slated to vote on on the deal on Sept. 8. The city already owns the arena, which is the third-newest in the NBA.
