Kenneth Faried 'extremely surprised' to be starting with USAMNT

No one has benefited from the relatively thin frontcourt of the United States Men's National Team more than Kenneth Faried.

With the horrific injury suffered by Paul George, and the absence of Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, and Kevin Love (amongst others), Faried has found himself thrust into a starting role on a team he wasn't originally sure he would even make.

In two exhibition games against Brazil and the Dominican Republic, Faried - known for his defense and non-stop hustle - has put up solid numbers, posting 7.5 points and 7 rebounds in 17 minutes per game.
